Are there any ways of stopping nausea and vomiting when coming round from Anaesthesia?
There are certain measures that can be taken to try and reduce the risk of nausea and vomiting. The first of these is to try to avoid emetogenic drugs (drugs that induce nausea). It is important to realize that this group of drugs includes the strong painkillers. The second measure is to use anti-emetic drugs to stop patients feeling nauseous. These measures can be discussed with your anaesthetist before the operation.
